How the chart works
The main purpose of this chart is to roughly illustrate the different costs involved in our coffee purchasing operations, with a focus on transparency—specifically what the producer receives and what we retain from the operation.

Farmgate: Is the price the farmer gets paid per KG or LBS of green beans.
FOB (Free on board): It represents the cost of coffee at the port of origin, ready to be shipped. It includes the cost of the green coffee beans, processing, packaging, domestic transportation to the port, and exporter's fees, but not the cost of shipping and insurance to the destination country.
We convert all the data to euro and kg for better understanding.
Agri evolve
Agri Evolve, the company behind this coffee, is a profit-for-purpose agribusiness based in the Rwenzori Mountains of Uganda, specializing in coffee production, processing, and export. Founded in 2016, the company supports smallholder farmers by providing resources, training, and market access, with the goal of improving coffee quality, increasing farmer income, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Agri Evolve works with approximately 2,000 farmers across Uganda’s Kasese District and is committed to building a positive social and environmental impact in the region.

building future
In 2022, Agri Evolve completed construction on the Nyabirongo Processing Station, one of Uganda’s largest and most advanced coffee facilities. Equipped for both wet and dry processing, the station streamlines coffee production, eliminating the need for off-site milling and creating new employment opportunities in the area. Agri Evolve has also established multiple buying centers across the Rwenzori Mountains, providing accessible market points for farmers and reinforcing the company’s long-term presence in the region.
Processing
Coffee is floated, pulped, and subsequently soaked in the tanks for 24 hours, then dried, either on raised beds or mechanically. Hulling, grading and bagging all happens at Nyabirongo washing station.
